Evidently the authorities dont dare to risk a community uprising in their Barcelona pot of gold. After a big local demo and a host of community resistance it was announced the eviction of the iconic Can Vies centre, occupied now for 17 years, was cancelled. … or was it??
”A week ago , from the Can Vies Social Centre we reported that the eviction had been suspended , but a week later we still haven’t received any notification from the courts, therefore , from the legal point of view , the CSA is still in danger of eviction ….The CSA will continue to follow its danger alert plan, ready to defend the free space .
After an intense week of action we continued with a torchlight procession on Sat 6th. with many neighbours joining in….”
